Be sure you are giving students "learning" activities . . . ways to learn . . . and not just activities that presume you've already learned.
Keep your descriptions tight but complete so students can follow on their own.
Everything doesn't have to be a link . . . ask students to analyze information in the news, count or engage in statistics on household items, interview an adult, graph how they use their time, and more.
Use data as your driver. Include assessments or how students should hand in work for your use.
